If you are guilty of the charges, do not be so hard on yourself - it's probably because the items are buried in the back of the fridge and cupboards. Keep items easily visible and take stock before buying by creating a shopping list based on your current "inventory".
Go, go gadget. As you acquire new goodies and kitchen gadgets, do not forget to leave a little movement. (You can follow the tried and true "one by one" method if optimizes more easily.) Make your kitchen more intuitive by creating special zones that create proximity between the subjects and the scope of use.
